Ski training: Learn basic cross-country skiing techniques in classic style
The language booklet has two parts:
Part 1: Introduction to ski equipment, clothing, skiing techniques and trails.
Part 2: Wayfinding, snow types, terrain and safety, as well as unwritten rules of the trail.
Recommendation: 2-day courses give you the full experience and mastery of both skiing and Norwegian, but 1-day courses are also possible!

DETAILED INFO ABOUT THE COURSE
Introduction:
"Norskkurs på Ski" is an innovative and engaging integration activity designed to promote immigrants' understanding and participation in Norwegian society. The concept combines hands-on learning of the Norwegian language with basic skiing skills and offers a unique approach to language learning that is both rewarding and fun.
After completing the course, participants will be able to:
Participants will acquire basic skiing skills in the classic style, and build confidence and security in the trail. This will enable them to go ski touring on their own.
Participants will learn and apply basic vocabulary related to skiing and winter activities, how to plan a safe ski trip themselves and unwritten rules of the trail, which will improve their social integration.
This course is for those who want to learn Norwegian language and culture through a practical and fun activity.
Language training
A digital language booklet will be sent out in advance of the course to prepare participants. The course will be led in Norwegian with a focus on the vocabulary from the language booklet. Participants can practice the new words in advance by solving exercises from the booklet. The teacher will use a pedagogical approach with simple communication, repetition and translations when needed.
The language booklet
The language booklet is divided into two parts and includes self-study tasks for further practice. It is designed to not only provide language training, but also act as a guide to prepare participants to be able to go ski touring on their own. The booklet covers everything from how to dress for skiing, to how to find your way in the forest and what unwritten rules exist on the trails to ensure safety and a good social experience.
With a focus on visual elements and simple Norwegian text, the textbook is adapted to people with different language backgrounds and levels of Norwegian.
Skiing skills
Participants will learn the basics of classic skiing techniques, including diagonal striding, double poling, braking, herringbone and skiing downhill.
Interactive Learning
At the end of the course session, participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences with each other using the new vocabulary.
